I think my life is on Facebook

Facebook, the social network that connects friend, family and businesses. But for me, like so many other people it has become so much more. I thought long and hard about how I would some this up and here is my conclusion: People are addicted to facebook because they are scared of becoming irrelevant, so scared of not being in the picture.

My facebook addiction dawned on me the other day when I realised I had 903 pictures on my profile and 893 of these pictures were ones in which I was tagged. Yes this means pictures in which I can be seen, with a few exceptions. And then I thought about how I had bought a camera for facebook, taken a phone that had the application embedded and how I had become the person at the party that always says, “If its not on facebook it didn’t happen.”

I then took a careful look at my wall – this turned out to be more informative than my curriculum vitae. Surprise there - not really, considering that face book is a daily for me. Everything that has ever been important in my life is carefully documented with smileys and matching pictures, normal activities recorded simply because someone said it was picture time.

So if you ever feel like this blog is not enough for you, catch me on facebook and tell me if my whole life is on this site. Lets hope things go a bit better with twitter.
