The sound of one hand clapping

The sound of one hand clapping...in my opinion it is a good thing. Although most people have nightmares about saying something and only having just one person applaud them, I think it is a step in the right direction. It means that somewhere, one single person has made the decision to clap no matter who claps with them, and more importantly who doesn't. We are living in an age, where being an individual, is something everyone strives for. Yet so many people are scared to take that jump and do something on their own. So although a single hand clap is not the climax any speaker would hope for, it is the beginning of something worth so much more. So if you do find something worth putting your hands together for, go for it! And if you can only find one hand available beat against the nearest object and make some noise!

  1. 20 people who clap for you because they have to, or one person who claps because they want to? One clap is all you need.

  2. Like your analogy - even if one person claps alone, it is sufficient as it shows someone cares. That 'caring clap of one person' might lead to the clapping of a thousand.
