Wedding cake in the middle of the road

Now this is something I have never seen, a wedding cake in the middle of the road, but it does spark some thoughts of things being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And not just things, sometimes people also find themselves somewhere life has thrown them and feeling like a wedding cake in the middle of a busy road, unable to move, and unable to stop life from running over them.

We all at some time in our lives feel out of place, feel like things are speeding past us on all sides, just barely missing us, but close enough for it to shake our icing off. It is important to know, that just like the wedding cake, we can do very little when we feel out of place and we miss out on life when we let things pass us by.

And just like the cake, we sometimes can’t get ourselves out of the road. We need some one else to pick us up and tell us that we still have purpose. For this we, as the wedding cake have to mean something to some one. Somewhere a wedding is proceeding and a cake is missing, as soon as the organisers (or even worse the bride) notices they will try to find this cake. Just as the cake, we have to care about people so that they will care about us. We have to make the effort to notice when people are out of place and help them, and they might just do the same for us.
