It is better to practice a little than talk a lot

When it comes to most things in life, a picture is worth a million words, but we don’t always have a picture and a million words might not do the job as well as an executed and maintained plan, which gives the desired results.

How many times have we heard, “Your work speaks for itself” or “He was all bark and no bite”? Both of these reflect that the action of man is worth more than the words he speaks. And then my favourite one: “May my words be soft and tender as one day I might have to eat them.” Although it is a saying commonly expressed in politics, when new presidents start their reign over a country, it should serve as a way to live for all of us, not just Public Relations person’s but people in general.

At the end of the day, words are only words, and have little or no worth if they are not backed up by actions. So the next time you want to ramble off about something, or complain about something you think you can’t fix, rather look at what you can do to improve the situation, or where you can help instead of just handing over a mouth full of worthless words. For us this is difficult, as action requires effort. But if we all did a little more, and said a little less we could change most of the things in our lives we complain about.

That means getting the work done, taking the kids to the park as promised, going to Gym to lose that extra weight, being part of a lift club to save on fuel and pollution to the environment, doing something special for your better half to show them that you care, going to the music concert of your favourite band and smiling at every person that you meet.

  1. Fully agree - actions speak louder than words. In the end we are judged by our actions. Good blog

  2. People who talk or complain a lot about meaningless things are also so unpleasant and unhappy themselves.
